“Indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the Lord, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the Lord, saying: “For He is good, For His mercy endures forever,” that the house, the house of the Lord, was filled with a cloud…”
The goal of this ministry is to lead the New Horizon congregation, as one body, into corporate worship (Psalm 149). The presence of God is the place of salvation, healing, deliverance, blessing and freedom.
When people come to church they are often burdened, sad, discouraged, or experiencing the troubles of daily life (John 16:33). All those that walk through our doors come with the hope of relief through the spoken Word that is ministered by the Preacher or the Psalmist. As the “Psalmists” of the house, the Praise Team is trained to lead the congregation into a time of renewal and celebration.
Although the Praise Team’s love should be no stronger than the love found in the rest of the body of Christ, the Praise Team ministers Christ’s love to all. In Christ, you have received God’s unconditional love, and in Christ, as a Praise Team member you are called to extend the same unconditional love to others. The Ministry of Music is vital to the success of the overall ministry because it is one of the most visible in the church.
